Dr. Franklin Dickerson Turner
Dr. Franklin Dickerson Turner is an expert in the fields of educational psychology and urban education. He also has expertise in the areas of emotional and physical wellness, race, equity, equality, social justice, and issues associated with marginalized populations.
Dr.Turner’s research focuses around his Multicultural Distress Theory, which is the emotional and physiological effects on marginalized people related to their exposure to dominant culture.
He is an active member in his community volunteering time to several different organizations. Dr. Turner earned his B.S. in History from Florida A&M University, M.A. in Educational Psychology from Rutgers University-New Brunswick, and Ph.D. in in Urban Systems with concentrations in Educational Psychology and Urban Education from Rutgers University-Newark.
